Introduction

At Our Lady Star of the Sea school we are all members of a learning community.

Our Lady Star of the Sea strives to develop interactive partnerships between the school, parish, the local and the wider global community to engage and improve student learning.

Our Lady Star of the Sea school belongs to the Holy Trinity Parish. Our Lady Star of the Sea church is our local church.

Our families are linked to the local community in many ways - through local sporting clubs, community organisations and their own work environments.

In embracing contemporary learning and a 21st century learning environment Our Lady Star of the Sea School uses Information, Communication and Technology to explore and create awareness of global issues

Parents are important partners in the education of children. The school values the active participation of parents and friends of the school community to provide a balanced program for students. Opportunities are open for parents to join more formalised areas of the school community, such as

  • The School Education Board.
  • Parents and Friends Association (PFA)
  • Grounds Improvement and Working Bees
  • Mowing Rosters
  • Maintaining Sustainability Strategies
  • Care and Concern
  • Classroom help and guest speakers
